The week before Easter, we prepare for this great celebration of God's love by hearing the story in the ways that help us experience this gift of life and love. In addition to the Stations of the Cross and the Easter Egg hunt, we invite you to be part of these times of worship:
Palm Sunday - 9:30 and 11:00 am
Worship opens with children processing with palm leaves, as Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey and the crowd shouts, "hosanna!", "save us!"
Both services tell the story of Jesus' journey to the cross with scripture and song. The 9:30 service features music of our regular guitar and mandolin players, as well as featured soloists and duets from the congregation. The chancel choir and organ lead the music at 11:00.
Maundy Thursday - 7 pm
At this service we will hear the story of Jesus sharing a last meal with his disciples. We hear Jesus' words for ourselves, when we too are given bread and cup. All are invited to be part of Holy Communion--Jesus is the host and welcomes all to his table.
Good Friday - noon
Gather in the sanctuary for a brief service of story and song, as we read the gospel account of Jesus' last moments on the cross, and sing the beloved hymns that remind us why we have this gift.
Sunrise Service followed by breakfast (time changes each year to reflect sunrise). Gather outside the graveyard to celebrate the resurrection.
Worship services at 9:30 and 11 are times of joy and thanksgiving, as we celebrate the difference Jesus' resurrection makes in our lives today.
