Promise of Gwinnett
Family Promise is a nationwide network of congregations that, together, provide shelter, meals, and support to families without homes. For one or two weeks in the summer, our church provides accommodations and meals to 3–5 families (up to 14 people) at a time. Our guests arrive on Sunday evening. On weekdays they are here from 5 pm until 7 am and they spend weekends either at the church or at the day center. It takes everyone in the church to make this happen!
Family Promise Coordinator
Coordinators interact with guests, volunteers, and the Family Promise staff. Among the tasks required of the Volunteer Coordinator are: welcome guests at a Sunday orientation meeting, remain on call during host week to solve problems and make decisions, work with assistant coordinators to recruit, schedule and support the volunteers.
