Sunday Morning Worship Schedule

Our church offers three worship services each Sunday. Throughout the year, we also have other special worship services.

Traditional

At 8:30 AM the worship service is informal, yet traditional. Congregational singing is "all request" from the Methodist Hymnal, followed by a period of prayer and celebration. The readings follow the lectionary. No nursery is provided during this session.

At 11:00 AM a traditional worship service, which includes a full choir, is held. Preschool children are encouraged to attend the beginning of the service with their parents. First grade and under are then dismissed to attend Extended Session. There is also a nursery provided during this session.

Contemporary

At 9:30 AM a unique worship service is held in the Sanctuary. This service includes a wide variety of music, ranging from Blue Grass to Sacred Harp to Contemporary. Children attending the beginning of the service with their parents will be given the opportunity to leave the service to attend Sunday School Class at 9:45 AM. There is also a nursery provided during this session.

Children's Church

Mt. Carmel provides a "Children's Church" every Sunday morning at 9:45 AM. All children ages 3 years through 5th grade gather in the double Sunday School classroom (Room 114) for a 15 minute service. The Children's Church Director, Bobby Smith, leads the children with a short Bible lesson. The children also participate in the Doxology, Gloria Patri, the Lord's Prayer, and the Apostle's Creed. The children are then dismissed to Sunday School at 10:00 AM.

Youth

  • Mid High -- Room 101

Adult Sunday School

  • Pairs & Spares -- Hope House
  •  The Pairs & Spares class meets in Fellowship Hall for refreshments and then moves to the Hope House for class at 10:00 AM.
  • Friendship Class -- Room 201
  • The Friendship Class meets each Sunday at 9:45 in the class room across the hall from the choir room. Class begins with the sharing of prayer requests and celebrations followed by a devotion led by a member of the class (we take turns!). The study of the Adult Bible Study curriculum.
  • Faith Builders 
  •  We have a new class for adults beginning at 10:00 AM in the Counseling Room (located next to the Youth Director's office). Parents, you have time to get children situated in the Nursery and/or class beforehand since Children's Sunday School begins at 9:45 AM.
